SAW Celebrates the Lives of Two Very Special Angels:

Thelma Braddock

and

Michele Manore

Thelma J. Braddock, Founder, Special Angels of The Woodlands

Thelma, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at age 89 on February 8, 2016, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Quanah, Texas on December 19, 1926, and grew up in Tyler. She dedicated more than 40 years to helping people of all ages with mental and physical challenges, through her work with various mental health organizations.

So dedicated to this cause, that in March 2003, Thelma founded Special Angels of The Woodlands, a nonprofit organization committed to enhancing the lives of adults with intellectual disabilities. Initially started in her home, the organization continues to grow, currently serving 37 clients who are provided meaningful daily activities with a strong emphasis on both enjoying and serving our local communities.

A graveside service was held Saturday, February 13, 2:30 p.m., at the Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway in Houston 77079, followed by a reception and celebration of life from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at The Shepherd's House Church, 200 Pruitt Road in Spring 77380.

In lieu of flowers, donations made in Thelma's honor to Special Angels of The Woodlands would be greatly appreciated.
